Group Head of Talent Management

Our Talent Acquisition team is part of our RCI Group People Team. It sits within the broader Talent function, with the strategic focus of becoming a trusted partner to the business by proactively driving a consistent talent agenda and assuming responsibility for standardised hiring and development of talented people.
Our Head of Talent Management will lead a team of TA experts and work hand in glove with our group businesses to ensure they are powerfully positioned to secure the best internal and external talent through unified practices, enabling them to thrive and grow. Taking complete ownership of the delivery of a high-quality, consistent recruitment process that delivers extraordinary and uniform experiences to all those involved. This role is a key member of the RCI Group People Leadership Team and reports directly to the CPO
Key Responsibilities:
- A member of the RCI Group People Leadership Team, you’ll be responsible for the effective and consistent delivery of high-quality talent (external hires, internal mobility, and early careers schemes) into the RCI Group businesses. You will lead a high-performing, passionate team that takes pride in delivering TA excellence through standardised methods.
- The Head of Talent Management will work collaboratively with other HR senior managers to provide support and guidance on key talent acquisition areas relevant to both our people and the business. Owning the full TA lifecycle on behalf of the group businesses—from attraction, selection, assessment, and onboarding—this role will lead a high-performing team of motivated, passionate experts who deliver a reputable, flexible, responsive, and expert-led service, with pride in their consistent approach.
- As a member of the RCI Group People Leadership Team, alongside colleagues, this role shapes and actively contributes to the exciting transformation of all facets of the HR function – technology, processes, capabilities, selection and assessment, and brand and attraction. This involves not only innovating and evolving the very basis for how the company hires talent but also leading the team and the broader business through profound, transformative change, ensuring alignment and inspiring trust with compassion and enthusiasm.
Operational Expertise
- Oversee the tactical delivery of recruitment activities across the RCI Group, ensuring the team operates to the highest quality standards and promoting consistency in practice. Monitor performance, KPIs, and feedback, and take timely action on required interventions to maintain uniformity.
- Work in close, respectful collaboration with colleagues across the RCI Group and RCI People Team, leveraging expertise, abiding by established frameworks and governance approaches, seeking expert input, and actively fostering a respectful awareness of the boundaries of knowledge, ownership, and expertise.
- Actively build and maintain robust external networks and market knowledge to ensure external innovations, technology advancements, best practices, and market intelligence are fed into the team, function, and broader business to support consistent evolution.
- Effectively manage multiple stakeholders across business areas with varying priorities and challenges while driving toward aligned outcomes.
Stakeholder Relationships
- Ensure meaningful dialogue with key colleagues across the RCI Group business to demonstrate the value of the TA service, highlight areas of success and focus, and share plans and progress toward consistency.
- Build and maintain strong, reputable relationships with leaders across the group businesses as a trusted expert
Management & Leadership
- Coach and mentor team members, enabling their success and personal growth and supporting their professional development in line with agreed standards.
- Management of team members to include:
- Conducting impactful and meaningful 1-1s.
- Monitoring and controlling workloads.
- Executing effective and consistent performance management processes.
- Be a positive agent for change, leading the team by example, inspiring trust and commitment through periods of transformation and change, championing innovation and consistency, role-modelling positive attitudes, and proactively tackling poor behaviours.
Essential skills
- Expertise and knowledge, including delivering full end-to-end direct sourcing models, structured assessment frameworks, and specialist hiring, understanding of recruitment best practice, process, policy, and relevant legislation, with a focus on consistent application.
- A deep recruitment expert with a career spanning delivery and leadership of complex in-house corporate TA activities, ensuring alignment across diverse functions.
- Confident, curious, and passionate about the evolution of technology and the value added through effective and uniform deployment in TA.
Beneficial
- CIPD or equivalent qualification.
- Qualified and experienced in assessment and psychometric tools for consistent evaluation.
- Experience in implementing AI and technology tools and managing contracts for consistent success.
- Executive search and Strategic Workforce Planning experience.
- Previous TA transformation and/or process re-engineering experience focused on standardisation.
Business Requirements
This is a team leadership and customer-facing role, so 80% of the time will be spent in the office with the Talent team and, at times, partnering with colleagues across the RCI Group on key issues/projects to ensure alignment and consistent delivery.
